European asset manager 21shares has launched the first European exchange-traded product linked to Zcash, expanding regulated access to the privacy-focused cryptocurrency.

The company listed physically backed Zcash and ETHFI products on Euronext Paris and Euronext Amsterdam on Tuesday.

21shares Launches First European Zcash ETP

The new Zcash ETP gives investors exposure to ZEC through traditional brokerage accounts without requiring them to hold the cryptocurrency directly.

The product is physically backed, meaning the underlying ZEC is held to support the value of the investment vehicle.

The launch marks another step toward bringing a wider range of cryptocurrencies into regulated European investment markets.

ETHFI ETP Also Debuts in Europe

Alongside the Zcash product, 21shares also introduced an ETP tracking ETHFI.

ETHFI is the governance and utility token of Ether.fi, a decentralized finance protocol focused on staking and other crypto-based financial services.

The ETHFI ETP is also physically backed and trades on both Euronext Paris and Euronext Amsterdam.

Both products carry an annual management fee of 2.5%.

That is considerably higher than the fees charged by many Bitcoin and Ether investment products currently available in Europe.

Zcash Expands After US ETF Launch

The European launch follows the introduction of the Grayscale Zcash ETF in the United States.

The US-listed product trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH.

The arrival of Zcash investment products in both the United States and Europe highlights growing interest in giving traditional investors regulated access to ZEC.

Zcash Rally Draws Investor Attention

The launch comes after a strong period for Zcash.

The cryptocurrency recently climbed above $1,500 and gained nearly 1,100% over the previous year, according to CoinMarketCap data.

That rally has renewed comparisons between Zcash and Bitcoin.

Grayscale head of research Zach Pandl has argued that Zcash may benefit from what he described as “second-mover advantages,” potentially helping it compete with Bitcoin’s established network effects.

Earlier Bitcoin alternatives, including Litecoin, have generally struggled to achieve the same level of adoption.

Zcash Mining Activity Also Expands

Interest in Zcash has also increased within the cryptocurrency mining sector.

Fortitude Digital Mining said it mined around 28% of all ZEC produced during the first half of 2026.

The company said its interest in Zcash is based on several characteristics, including its proof-of-work model, limited supply and privacy features.

The combination of strong price performance, growing institutional products and increased mining activity has helped bring Zcash back into focus among crypto investors.
