Donald Trump Dismisses Iran’s Military Strength
President Donald Trump on Tuesday downplayed Iran’s military capabilities, stating that Tehran “should wave the white flag of surrender,” while suggesting the country is too proud to do so publicly.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump described Iran’s military as significantly weakened, claiming it has been reduced to using what he referred to as “peashooters.”
Trump Claims Iran Is Seeking a Deal
According to Trump, despite its public rhetoric, Iran is privately interested in negotiating an agreement. He argued that the country’s current position leaves it with limited alternatives.
“They play games, but the reality is they want to make a deal,” Trump said. “And who wouldn’t, when your military strength is effectively gone?”
Support for U.S. Blockade Strategy
Trump also voiced strong support for the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports in the region, describing it as highly effective and difficult to challenge.
“It’s like a solid wall. Nobody is going to challenge the blockade, and it appears to be working very well,” he noted.
Ceasefire Warning and Final Remarks
When asked about potential violations of the ceasefire, Trump declined to provide specifics but warned that any breach would be clearly addressed.
“You’ll find out, because I’ll let you know,” he said. “They understand what actions to avoid.”
Reinforcing his stance, Trump repeated that Iran should consider surrendering, adding that in a direct conflict scenario, the situation would likely have already been resolved.
