Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF outflows reached $549 million last week, as investors continued withdrawing funds from US spot cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.
Ethereum investment products experienced particularly heavy selling pressure, with October withdrawals approaching $1 billion. Meanwhile, Bitcoin ETFs recorded their second consecutive week of negative net flows.
According to data from SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs registered approximately $229 million in net outflows during the week, while Ethereum ETFs suffered larger withdrawals totaling $320 million.
Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Extend Outflow Streak
The latest figures highlight continued weakness in investor demand for cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds.
Bitcoin ETFs recorded their second consecutive week of net withdrawals, while Ethereum funds extended their losing streak to three weeks.
However, the pace of withdrawals slowed compared with the previous week.
During that period, Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs experienced combined net outflows of $1.22 billion, significantly exceeding the latest $549 million withdrawal figure.
Although selling pressure has moderated, the continued movement of capital out of these investment products suggests that investors remain cautious about the cryptocurrency market.
The decline in ETF demand also coincides with weakness in Bitcoin and Ethereum prices, adding to concerns about the near-term outlook for digital assets.
Ethereum ETF Outflows Approach $1 Billion in October
Ethereum has faced particularly significant pressure throughout October, with institutional investment products recording substantial capital withdrawals.
According to SoSoValue, US spot Ethereum ETFs have accumulated approximately $955 million in net outflows so far this month.
This represents their largest monthly net withdrawal total of 2026 to date, highlighting the challenging environment for Ethereum-focused investment products.
The sustained outflows have coincided with declining ETH prices.
According to CoinGecko, Ethereum fell approximately 5% over the previous seven days, trading near $2,433 at the time of reporting.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin experienced a smaller weekly decline of 1.3%, with BTC changing hands around $82,783.
The contrasting price movements suggest that Ethereum has faced greater short-term market pressure than Bitcoin.
Nevertheless, ETF outflows alone do not necessarily determine cryptocurrency price direction, as broader market sentiment, liquidity conditions and trading activity also influence valuations.
Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Maintain Positive 2026 Net Flows
Despite the recent withdrawals, both Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs remain in positive territory for the year.
SoSoValue data indicates that Bitcoin ETFs have attracted approximately $259 million in net inflows during 2026.
Ethereum ETFs have recorded an even larger positive balance, accumulating around $610 million in net inflows since the beginning of the year.
These figures suggest that earlier investment demand has been sufficient to offset the recent withdrawals.
However, Ethereum’s substantial October outflows have significantly reduced its year-to-date net inflow total.
The coming weeks could therefore prove important in determining whether institutional demand stabilizes or investors continue reducing their cryptocurrency ETF exposure.
Solana, XRP and Other Crypto ETFs Also Record Withdrawals
The latest wave of selling was not limited to Bitcoin and Ethereum investment products.
Several alternative cryptocurrency ETFs also experienced net withdrawals during the reporting period.
Solana (SOL) funds recorded approximately $26 million in weekly net outflows, making them the third-largest contributor to the broader withdrawal trend.
Meanwhile, Zcash (ZEC) ETFs registered around $19 million in net withdrawals, followed by Hyperliquid (HYPE) funds at approximately $18 million.
Other cryptocurrency investment products experienced smaller outflows.
XRP ETFs recorded around $1.8 million in net withdrawals, while BNB funds saw approximately $285,000 leave their products.
These figures indicate that selling pressure extended across multiple cryptocurrency ETF categories, rather than remaining concentrated exclusively in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Crypto ETF Investors Remain Cautious Amid Market Weakness
The continued withdrawals from cryptocurrency ETFs reflect a challenging period for digital asset investment products.
Although weekly net outflows have slowed, Ethereum’s accumulated October withdrawals and the broader decline across alternative cryptocurrency funds suggest that investor sentiment remains fragile.
Nevertheless, positive year-to-date flows in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs demonstrate that recent selling has not completely erased earlier investment demand.
Looking ahead, investors will closely monitor ETF capital flows alongside cryptocurrency prices to determine whether the market is approaching a stabilization period or facing additional selling pressure.
