The cryptocurrency market continues to see major developments across stablecoins, blockchain security and artificial intelligence. Today’s crypto news highlights significant changes affecting digital assets, decentralized networks and emerging blockchain technologies.
Among the biggest stories, World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin has lost more than $400 million in market capitalization. Meanwhile, blockchain network Qubic suspended operations following a $1.4 million wallet exploit, while stablecoin giant Tether invested in AI infrastructure startup AIsa.
World Liberty’s USD1 Stablecoin Loses Over $400 Million in Market Value
World Liberty Financial’s USD1 stablecoin has experienced a substantial decline in circulating supply, losing more than $400 million in market capitalization over the past two weeks.
The decrease follows significant token redemptions across the Ethereum and BNB Chain networks.
According to CoinGecko data released Monday, USD1’s market capitalization dropped to approximately $4.02 billion, compared with $4.43 billion on October 6.
This represents a decline of roughly $401 million, or 9.1%, over the period.
Meanwhile, World Liberty Financial’s proof-of-reserves dashboard reported approximately $4.01 billion in reserves.
Blockchain analytics firm Onchain Benchmark identified concentrated redemption activity across Ethereum and BNB Chain as a major contributor to the decline.
Notably, researchers discovered that nearly $200 million in USD1 redemptions on BNB Chain originated from a single unidentified cryptocurrency address.
However, the firm could not determine the wallet owner’s identity or establish the reasons behind the transactions.
USD1 Maintains Dollar Peg Despite Heavy Redemptions
Despite the significant reduction in circulating supply, USD1 continued trading close to its intended $1 value.
According to Onchain Benchmark, the stablecoin fluctuated between $0.998 and $1.000 throughout the period examined.
Furthermore, researchers found no evidence of a prolonged depegging event.
These findings suggest that the decline in USD1’s market capitalization resulted primarily from token redemptions rather than a substantial deterioration in its dollar peg.
Qubic Blockchain Suspends Operations Following $1.4 Million Wallet Exploit
In another major cryptocurrency development, layer-1 blockchain Qubic temporarily halted its network after a security vulnerability allowed an attacker to steal approximately $1.4 million from more than 1,400 wallets.
The incident occurred Sunday and involved weaknesses in the generation of cryptocurrency wallet recovery seeds.
According to an announcement published by Qubic on X, the blockchain was paused at tick 85,371,949 following the discovery of the exploit.
The network remained suspended at the time of the project’s statement.
Qubic explained that the vulnerability affected wallet seeds generated through several specific platforms and applications.
These included wallets created using browsers on iPhones and iPads, Safari on Mac computers through October 18, 2026, and versions of the Qubic iOS application released before July 2025.
The attacker reportedly exploited these weaknesses to steal approximately 2.94 trillion Qubit (QU) tokens.
Most Stolen Qubic Funds Remain Frozen
Despite the scale of the security breach, Qubic reported that the majority of stolen funds had been prevented from moving beyond the network.
According to the project, approximately 87.1% of the stolen assets remained on Qubic and were frozen.
The remaining 12.9% was transferred to cryptocurrency exchange MEXC.
However, the exchange reportedly froze the receiving account within approximately one hour, limiting the attacker’s ability to move those funds further.
The incident highlights continuing security risks associated with improperly generated cryptocurrency wallet seeds.
Similar vulnerabilities have affected other cryptocurrency platforms in recent years.
In July, hardware wallet provider Coldcard disclosed thefts involving recovery seeds weakened by a firmware bug.
Meanwhile, comparable security flaws affected Trust Wallet’s browser extension and the Libbitcoin Explorer tool in 2023.
These incidents demonstrate the importance of secure wallet seed generation and reliable cryptographic safeguards for protecting digital assets.
Tether Invests in Enterprise AI Startup AIsa
Elsewhere in today’s crypto news, stablecoin issuer Tether has joined a funding round for artificial intelligence infrastructure startup AIsa, further expanding its involvement in emerging technologies.
AIsa announced the completion of its seed extension funding round, welcoming Tether and HIVEN as strategic investors.
The investment brings the San Francisco-based company’s total funding to more than $9 million.
Its existing investor group includes Alibaba, Tribe Capital, Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates and Saison Capital, among others.
AIsa specializes in infrastructure designed to help enterprise artificial intelligence agents access external resources, execute transactions and manage payments through controlled systems.
AIsa Targets the Growing Market for Autonomous AI Agents
Jordan Liu, founder and CEO of AIsa, explained that enterprise AI agents require reliable information, practical software tools and secure transaction capabilities.
The company’s objective is to build infrastructure that enables AI agents to discover, access and purchase resources globally while allowing businesses to maintain control over permissions, spending and financial transactions.
According to AIsa, existing enterprise AI systems frequently struggle with fragmented service providers, disconnected software integrations and complicated billing processes.
These limitations make it difficult for businesses to deploy and manage autonomous AI agents at scale.
To address these challenges, AIsa is developing its Trusted Resource and Transaction Network for Enterprise AI Agents.
The platform combines resource discovery, service access and payment processing within a unified, usage-based infrastructure.
Additionally, the network connects enterprise AI agents to external data providers, AI search services, language models, application programming interfaces (APIs), software tools and specialized industry resources.
Its capabilities include controlled access, usage tracking, billing and transaction settlement.
Tether’s participation in the funding round highlights the growing intersection between cryptocurrency infrastructure, digital payments and artificial intelligence, as technology companies explore new applications for autonomous financial transactions.
