Robinhood Markets Inc. shares moved higher on Wednesday after the online brokerage unveiled a major expansion of its trading platform. The company introduced new artificial intelligence tools, crypto perpetual futures, and plans for around-the-clock stock trading.

The announcements attracted positive reactions from Wall Street analysts. Several analysts believe Robinhood’s growing range of products could increase customer activity and strengthen long-term revenue growth.

Robinhood stock gained around 2.5% following the company’s third annual HOOD Summit. During the event, executives demonstrated several new products designed to attract more sophisticated and active traders.

Robinhood Targets More Active Traders

Robinhood has traditionally been associated with beginner and retail investors. However, the company is increasingly expanding into advanced trading products.

Wall Street analysts highlighted the speed at which Robinhood continues to develop its platform. They see the company’s expanding product lineup as an important part of its long-term growth strategy.

Morgan Stanley analyst Michael Cyprys said Robinhood delivered two major products his team had been monitoring: AI-powered Robinhood Agents and U.S. crypto perpetual futures.

Cyprys maintained an Overweight rating on Robinhood stock with a $150 price target. He argued that the broader platform could encourage customers to hold more assets, trade more frequently, and generate greater revenue for Robinhood.

Deutsche Bank analyst Brian Bedell also maintained a positive outlook. He reiterated a Buy rating and a $134 price target.

Bedell described the latest product launches as a major strategic step toward bringing more sophisticated trading tools to retail investors.

Although some initiatives may take time to gain traction, he believes Robinhood’s broader platform could deepen customer engagement and capture a larger share of trading activity.

Robinhood Makes a Major Push Into AI Trading

One of the biggest announcements from the HOOD Summit was Robinhood Agents.

The AI-powered feature is integrated directly into the Robinhood app. It allows customers to analyze market trends, develop trading strategies, and automate certain trading activities.

According to Robinhood, more than 150,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts since the company first previewed the technology in May.

Robinhood also said its AI agents are now processing nearly 30 million tool queries each day.

The figures suggest that artificial intelligence could become an increasingly important part of Robinhood’s trading ecosystem.

Robinhood Launches Agent Apps Marketplace

The company is also expanding its AI ecosystem through Agent Apps, a new marketplace available inside the Robinhood platform.

The marketplace will provide access to premium research, market data, and analytics from 11 third-party providers.

Participants include Nasdaq, Unusual Whales, and SpotGamma.

Customers will initially receive a one-month trial. Afterward, subscription prices are expected to range from $5 to $30 per month.

The marketplace could create another source of recurring revenue for Robinhood while giving active traders access to more advanced research tools.

Crypto Perpetual Futures Coming to U.S. Traders

Robinhood is also targeting experienced crypto traders with the introduction of perpetual futures.

Eligible U.S. customers are expected to gain access to crypto perpetual contracts following the final rollout in the coming months.

These derivatives are already widely used in international cryptocurrency markets.

Robinhood plans to offer leverage of up to 10x on Bitcoin and Ether perpetual futures. Traders will also be able to gain exposure to cryptocurrencies including Solana and XRP.

The company announced a promotional transaction fee of 0.01% through the end of the year.

Expanding into perpetual futures could help Robinhood compete more directly with major crypto trading platforms.

Robinhood Plans 24/7 Stock Trading

Robinhood is also moving closer to continuous stock trading.

The company introduced its 24-Hour Market in 2023. Now, it plans to expand trading availability to weekends for selected stocks.

The weekend trading service remains subject to regulatory approval.

Robinhood also plans to introduce extended options trading hours in October.

Together, these changes would give traders more opportunities to react to market developments outside traditional U.S. trading hours.

More Margin and Advanced Trading Orders

Several additional features are aimed directly at active traders.

Robinhood plans to introduce 4x intraday margin for qualifying accounts next month.

The brokerage is also adding one-cancels-the-other, or OCO, equity orders. These orders allow traders to place two related orders, with one automatically cancelled if the other executes.

In addition, Robinhood plans to offer Cboe-backed binary options contracts linked to corporate earnings metrics ahead of the third-quarter earnings season.

These products add another layer of sophistication to a platform that was originally built around simplified retail investing.

Wall Street Sees More Growth Potential for Robinhood

Morgan Stanley noted that Robinhood did not provide new information about U.S. tokenization or its broader on-chain initiatives.

However, analysts still viewed the overall package of active-trading products positively.

The company is reducing some of the barriers associated with more complex trading strategies while also increasing the number of hours during which customers can access markets.

That combination could help Robinhood compete more effectively with traditional retail brokerages and crypto trading platforms.

Cyprys also highlighted Robinhood’s strong pace of product development. In his view, expanding both how customers trade and when they can trade could support higher engagement across the company’s user base.

Overall, Robinhood’s latest AI agents, crypto derivatives, extended trading hours, and advanced trading tools show that the company is moving well beyond its original reputation as a beginner-focused investing app.

If adoption continues to grow, these products could play an important role in Robinhood’s efforts to attract active traders, increase trading activity, and generate more revenue from each customer.
