Donald Trump expressed confidence on Sunday that progress is being made toward ending the war in Ukraine, revealing that he remains in ongoing communication with both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Speaking during an interview on Fox News’ The Sunday Briefing, Trump said efforts to resolve the conflict are actively underway and moving in a positive direction.
Ongoing Talks With Russia and Ukraine
Trump confirmed that he has been in regular contact with both leaders, although he chose not to disclose specific details regarding his latest conversation with Putin. He emphasized that discussions with both sides have been constructive, describing them as “good conversations.”
These ongoing diplomatic efforts come as international pressure continues to mount for a resolution to the prolonged conflict.
Personal Tensions Complicating Peace Negotiations
According to Trump, one of the main obstacles to reaching a peace agreement is the personal hostility between Putin and Zelenskyy. He described the level of animosity between the two leaders as excessive and counterproductive to negotiations.
