President Donald Trump purchased between $15,001 and $50,000 worth of SpaceX shares on June 23, according to a financial disclosure signed on August 12 and released on Friday.

The SpaceX investment was one of more than 1,000 stock transactions disclosed by Trump for the month of June.

Trump Invests in SpaceX After Its IPO

The transaction came shortly after SpaceX completed its initial public offering on June 12, an event that reportedly set new IPO records.

Federal disclosure rules do not require officials to reveal the exact value of individual investments. Instead, transactions are reported within predetermined value ranges.

As a result, Trump’s SpaceX purchase is listed as being worth somewhere between $15,001 and $50,000.

White House Says Trump Does Not Control Portfolio Decisions

The White House emphasized that Trump does not personally decide which stocks are bought or sold within his investment portfolio.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Reuters that independent third-party financial institutions manage the portfolio.

According to Ingle, those institutions follow established investment benchmarks, including recognized indexes such as the Schwab 1000.

He also stated that neither Trump nor members of his family can direct, influence or provide instructions regarding individual investment decisions or the timing of trades.

SpaceX Investment Creates Financial Link With Elon Musk’s Company

The purchase establishes a financial connection between Trump and SpaceX, the aerospace company led by Elon Musk.

Musk previously served as an adviser to the president, while SpaceX has extensive business relationships with the U.S. government.

The company operates as a major military and government contractor and regularly works with federal agencies that oversee space launches and other aerospace activities.

Trump Pushes for More U.S. Commercial Space Launches

The disclosure also comes as the Trump administration seeks to increase commercial space activity in the United States.

On Thursday, Trump directed members of his administration to work toward increasing the number of U.S. commercial space launches.

SpaceX currently holds a leading position in the commercial launch industry, making government space policy particularly relevant to the company’s operations.

Trump’s June Trading Activity Draws Attention

The SpaceX investment represented only a small portion of Trump’s overall trading activity during June.

More than 1,000 transactions were reported during the month, highlighting the size and complexity of the investment portfolio managed on his behalf.

The White House maintains that these investment decisions are handled independently and that Trump has no direct involvement in selecting individual stocks.

Still, the SpaceX transaction is likely to attract attention because of the company’s federal contracts, regulatory relationships and Musk’s previous role within the Trump administration.
