Strategy (MSTR) has announced plans to introduce daily dividend payments on its STRC preferred stock starting in November 2026. However, the proposed changes remain subject to shareholder approval and the completion of required corporate amendments.
The Bitcoin treasury company, led by executive chairman Michael Saylor, aims to make STRC more attractive to investors while encouraging its share price to trade consistently near the $100 target.
Despite the announcement, STRC continued trading slightly below that level, highlighting the company’s ongoing efforts to improve price stability.
Strategy Announces Conditional Daily STRC Dividends
Strategy’s board of directors has conditionally declared cash dividends for every calendar day between November 1 and November 30, 2026.
According to a Form 8-K filing submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the first payment is scheduled for November 2.
Under the proposed arrangement, dividends would accrue daily, including weekends and holidays. Payments would then be distributed on the following business day.
However, the new payment schedule can only take effect if shareholders approve the necessary amendments and the updated corporate documents become effective before November begins.
Strategy has scheduled a shareholder meeting for October 28 to consider the proposed changes.
If the proposal does not receive approval, STRC will continue following its existing semi-monthly dividend schedule.
STRC Dividend Rate to Remain at 12% Annually
The company intends to maintain STRC’s annualized dividend rate at 12% throughout November.
Strategy’s management has also indicated that it will continue recommending the same rate until STRC demonstrates sustained and stable trading near $100 per share.
The proposed daily schedule would distribute approximately $1 per share in total dividends for November, equivalent to the existing annualized rate.
Importantly, the change would affect dividend payment frequency rather than increase the total annual dividend entitlement.
More frequent payments could make STRC appealing to income-focused investors seeking regular cash distributions.
The company also expects the new structure to improve liquidity, reduce the time investors wait to receive dividends, and support more consistent trading activity.
Nevertheless, STRC’s dividend rate remains variable, and future payments are not guaranteed.
STRC Shares Continue Trading Below $100
Despite the announcement, Strategy’s preferred shares remained slightly below their targeted trading level.
STRC declined approximately 0.2% on Friday, trading at $99.32 as of 13:36 UTC, according to Yahoo Finance data cited in the report.
The stock’s continued position below $100 reinforces the importance of Strategy’s efforts to improve investor demand and price stability.
STRC represents an important financing instrument within the company’s broader Bitcoin investment strategy.
Through preferred stock offerings, Strategy can raise capital to support its operations and expand its cryptocurrency holdings.
The proposed daily dividend structure could increase the appeal of STRC among investors seeking recurring income.
However, its effectiveness in supporting the stock price will depend on market conditions and investor confidence.
Strategy Expands Bitcoin Holdings to 848,250 BTC
Alongside the dividend announcement, Strategy continued expanding its substantial Bitcoin portfolio.
The company purchased an additional 250 Bitcoin for approximately $21.5 million during the week ending October 11.
The acquisition increased its total holdings to 848,250 BTC, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
Meanwhile, Strategy has also been allocating significant capital toward repurchasing its own preferred shares.
During the week ending October 4, the company bought back approximately $176 million worth of STRC.
That amount was more than six times the approximately $28 million it spent acquiring additional Bitcoin during the same period.
The figures highlight Strategy’s growing focus on managing its capital structure alongside its long-term Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
Strategy’s Capital Framework Supports Dividend Payments
Strategy introduced a broader capital management framework on June 29, providing additional flexibility in financing its operations and preferred stock obligations.
The framework allows the company to sell portions of its Bitcoin holdings under specified conditions to help fund dividend payments, replenish cash reserves, or support securities repurchases.
The policy does not require Strategy to sell Bitcoin, but it provides another potential funding source when management considers such transactions financially advantageous.
As part of the same initiative, Strategy increased STRC’s annual dividend rate to 12%.
The company has increasingly emphasized the importance of balancing Bitcoin accumulation with shareholder returns, liquidity management, and financing costs.
This approach could help strengthen confidence in its preferred securities while preserving flexibility in how it manages its Bitcoin reserves.
What Does the Daily Dividend Plan Mean for STRC Investors?
The proposed introduction of daily STRC dividends represents another development in Strategy’s evolving financial model.
If approved, the changes could provide investors with more frequent cash payments while potentially encouraging STRC to trade closer to its $100 target.
However, the annualized dividend rate would remain unchanged at 12%, meaning shareholders would receive their distributions more frequently rather than earn a higher annual rate.
Investors will now focus on the October 28 shareholder vote and whether the required amendments become effective before November 1.
For now, Strategy’s daily STRC dividend plan remains conditional, while the company continues managing its preferred share capital and expanding its substantial Bitcoin holdings.
The coming weeks will determine whether the new dividend structure becomes operational and whether it helps improve STRC’s market performance.
