Strategy, the Bitcoin treasury company led by Michael Saylor, has increased its total cryptocurrency holdings to 848,250 BTC following another purchase. The company also confirmed that it maintains a $4.88 billion cash reserve to support its financial obligations.

During the past week, Strategy acquired an additional 250 Bitcoin for approximately $21.5 million. However, the latest transaction marked the second consecutive week of declining purchase volumes, reflecting a slower pace of accumulation.

Strategy Expands Bitcoin Holdings With $21.5 Million Purchase

According to an announcement published on its official website, Strategy purchased 250 BTC between Monday and Sunday, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 848,250 BTC.

The company financed most of the acquisition through sales of its common stock, generating approximately $21 million.

Meanwhile, the remaining $500,000 came from existing cash resources.

This financing approach allows Strategy to continue expanding its Bitcoin treasury while using equity issuance to fund new cryptocurrency acquisitions.

Despite the latest purchase, Strategy’s recent buying activity has been more modest compared with its previous accumulation periods.

Strategy Increases Preferred Stock Repurchases

Alongside its Bitcoin investments, Strategy continued repurchasing shares of its STRC preferred stock.

The company spent approximately $192.4 million on these repurchases during the latest reporting week, compared with $176.3 million in the preceding week.

The increase highlights Strategy’s continued activity in managing its capital structure while maintaining its long-term Bitcoin investment strategy.

Meanwhile, Strategy’s Nasdaq-listed common stock, trading under the ticker MSTR, gained less than 1% in premarket trading on Monday, according to Yahoo Finance.

The company’s preferred shares were also expected to begin trading near $99.68 per share.

Strategy Maintains $4.88 Billion Cash Reserve

Strategy confirmed that its US Reserve stands at approximately $4.88 billion.

The reserve is intended to support dividend payments on preferred shares and interest obligations associated with the company’s outstanding debt.

Additionally, Strategy reported a separate USD Cash balance of $640.5 million as of Sunday.

These financial resources play an important role in the company’s broader treasury management, particularly as it continues to hold substantial Bitcoin assets.

Maintaining sufficient liquidity is essential for meeting financial commitments without necessarily relying on cryptocurrency sales during periods of market volatility.

Michael Saylor Signals Continued Bitcoin Accumulation

The latest Bitcoin purchase followed another social media message from Strategy founder and executive chairman Michael Saylor.

On Sunday, Saylor hinted at an additional acquisition, writing, “There’s always room for more orange.”

The reference to Bitcoin’s familiar orange branding reinforced expectations that Strategy would announce another purchase.

The company typically discloses its Bitcoin acquisitions through regulatory filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

However, the SEC was closed on Monday for the Columbus Day federal holiday, affecting the usual regulatory reporting schedule.

Strategy’s Bitcoin Buying Pace Slows in Recent Months

Although Strategy continues to expand its Bitcoin holdings, its accumulation rate has moderated considerably.

During the third quarter, the company’s reported Bitcoin holdings increased by just 0.2%.

According to the reported figures, Strategy acquired 7,218 BTC during the period while selling 5,553 BTC, resulting in a relatively small net increase.

The slower growth contrasts with the company’s more aggressive Bitcoin acquisition activity during earlier periods.

Nevertheless, Strategy remains committed to maintaining a substantial Bitcoin treasury while balancing new purchases with liquidity requirements and capital management.

Looking ahead, investors will likely monitor whether Strategy accelerates its Bitcoin acquisitions again, particularly as cryptocurrency market conditions and financing opportunities evolve.
