Looking for the biggest developments in crypto today? Here is a roundup of the latest news affecting Bitcoin, blockchain, DeFi, Web3 and crypto regulation.

Today’s major stories include a new tokenized U.S. stock platform involving OKX and the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, a new U.S. initiative focused on super intelligence, and fresh IMF funding for El Salvador despite concerns surrounding its Bitcoin policies.

OKX and NYSE Parent Plan Tokenized U.S. Stock Platform

A joint venture involving OKX has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a new platform for trading tokenized stocks.

The company, OKXICE LLC, is a joint venture between cryptocurrency exchange operator OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.

The group has informed the SEC that it intends to launch a tokenized securities venue under the regulator’s new innovation exemption.

Platform Could Include More Than 60 U.S. Stocks

According to OKXICE co-chair Andrew Cuomo, the platform is expected to support more than 60 companies currently listed on U.S. stock exchanges.

A public notice dated October 4 listed 63 proposed stock symbols.

These include major companies such as Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla.

Crypto-related firms including Strategy, Coinbase, Circle and BitGo are also included in the proposed lineup.

Cuomo said tokenized securities could become an important part of the next stage of financial-market development as digital assets continue to reshape the financial system.

Tokenized Stocks Could Trade 24/7

One of the most notable features of the proposed platform is continuous trading.

OKXICE plans to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The system would use permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools running on XLayer.

Each tokenized stock would be paired with stablecoins such as USDC, Global Dollar or USDT.

The proposal could give investors greater access to U.S. equities outside traditional stock-market hours.

Trump Names Jay Clayton to Lead Super Intelligence Force

In another major development, President Donald Trump announced that Jay Clayton will lead the United States’ new Super Intelligence Force.

Trump made the announcement through a Truth Social post on Sunday.

The new initiative is intended to coordinate federal efforts aimed at ensuring the U.S. remains a global leader in advanced artificial intelligence and super intelligence.

The move follows earlier reports that the administration planned to create an AI-focused organization inspired by the structure of the U.S. Space Force.

U.S. Officials Join New AI Initiative

Clayton will be joined by several senior U.S. officials.

These include Federal Trade Commission chairman Andrew Ferguson and Office of Personnel Management director Scott Kupor.

Emil Michael, under secretary for research and engineering and chief technology officer at the Department of War, will also participate in the initiative.

The announcement highlights the growing strategic importance of artificial intelligence within U.S. technology and national policy.

El Salvador Receives $138 Million From IMF

El Salvador has secured another $138 million in financing from the International Monetary Fund.

The payment forms part of the country’s broader $1.4 billion financing program.

The IMF approved the latest disbursement despite El Salvador missing some performance targets.

The organization granted waivers after pointing to corrective measures and renewed commitments from the government.

Bitcoin Policies Remain Under IMF Scrutiny

Bitcoin continues to be one of the main areas of focus in El Salvador’s relationship with the IMF.

The organization noted that some targets connected to Bitcoin accumulation had not been met.

However, the IMF highlighted progress in areas including financial-sector reform, fiscal transparency and anti-money-laundering measures.

It also pointed to the transfer of majority ownership and control of the government-backed Chivo Bitcoin wallet to a private operator.

El Salvador Expected to Limit Further Bitcoin Purchases

The IMF said El Salvador is expected to continue reducing direct government involvement in Bitcoin-related activities.

Authorities are also expected to strengthen crypto regulation, governance and transparency surrounding public-sector digital-asset holdings.

According to the IMF, no additional Bitcoin accumulation is currently expected beyond documented donations.

Crypto Markets Watch Regulation and Tokenization Trends

The latest developments show how quickly the cryptocurrency industry is expanding beyond traditional digital assets.

Tokenized stocks could create new links between blockchain technology and conventional financial markets.

At the same time, developments in U.S. AI policy and El Salvador’s Bitcoin strategy continue to show how closely crypto, regulation and emerging technologies are becoming connected.
