Trump Confirms Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Is Joining China Visit
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is accompanying U.S. President Donald Trump on his trip to China, Trump confirmed in a social media post late Tuesday.
Trump dismissed earlier media reports suggesting Huang had not been invited to join the U.S. delegation traveling to Beijing.
Trump Rejects Reports About Huang’s Absence
Posting on Truth Social, Trump stated that Huang was already aboard Air Force One and described reports claiming otherwise as “FAKE NEWS.”
The comments followed earlier reports from CNBC suggesting the Nvidia chief was not included on the initial White House list of executives attending the trip.
Top U.S. Business Leaders Join China Delegation
Trump said Huang will participate in meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping alongside several prominent U.S. business leaders.
The delegation also includes Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Larry Fink, Stephen Schwarzman, and David Solomon.
Trade and AI Expected to Dominate Talks
Trump said he plans to encourage Xi to further “open up” China to U.S. businesses during the summit discussions.
The talks are expected to focus on trade relations, artificial intelligence, tariffs, semiconductor restrictions, and broader geopolitical tensions between Washington and Beijing.
Nvidia’s China Presence Under Close Watch
Huang’s participation in the visit is attracting significant attention due to Nvidia’s efforts to preserve access to the Chinese market amid tightening U.S. semiconductor export controls.
The Trump-Xi summit, scheduled for May 14-15, comes as both countries attempt to stabilize relations after months of tensions involving trade, technology restrictions, and Taiwan.
Huang had previously stated that traveling to China with Trump would be “a great honor” if he received an invitation.
