AI Hype Drives Massive Surge in Fundrise Innovation Fund
Investor demand for exposure to the AI model Claude, developed by Anthropic, has fueled a dramatic rally in a newly listed stock.
The Fundrise Innovation Fund (NYSE: VCX) made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange last Thursday at $31.25 per share. Since then, the stock has surged by an extraordinary 740%, including a further 36% gain on Tuesday, reaching $261.80. The latest rally was supported by news that Claude introduced a new browser-based tool capable of performing tasks directly on users’ computers.
VCX Emerges as a Major Public Venture Capital Player
With its market debut, VCX has become one of the first and largest publicly traded venture capital funds listed on a major U.S. exchange. The fund launched with more than 100,000 investors and manages over $650 million in assets.
This structure gives public market investors rare access to high-growth private technology companies that are typically difficult to invest in directly.
Portfolio Heavily Focused on Leading AI Companies
Anthropic represents the fund’s largest holding, accounting for 21% of its portfolio. Databricks follows with an 18% allocation, while OpenAI makes up 10% and defense-tech firm Anduril holds a 7% share.
Other notable investments include Ramp and SpaceX at 5% each, along with Epic Games at 4%, highlighting the fund’s strong exposure to cutting-edge technology and innovation-driven companies.
Expanding Access to Private Tech Investments
Fundrise CEO Ben Miller emphasized that the launch of VCX marks a significant step toward making private market investments more accessible.
He noted that many of today’s most innovative technology companies are staying private for longer periods. VCX aims to bridge that gap by allowing a broader range of investors to participate in the growth of next-generation tech firms.
A Shift Toward Democratized Investing
According to Miller, the fund aligns with Fundrise’s long-term mission of democratizing access to private markets. By opening venture capital opportunities to everyday investors, the company is positioning itself at the forefront of a broader shift in financial markets.
The launch of VCX could represent a turning point, giving retail investors new ways to gain exposure to some of the most influential companies shaping the future of technology.
