XRP Ledger Fix Amendment Begins Two-Week Activation Period After 82% Validator Approval

The XRP Ledger’s latest bundled bug-fix amendment, known as fixCleanup3_2_0, has officially entered its two-week activation period. The amendment moved forward after receiving support from more than 80% of the network’s validators.

At the time of reporting, the proposal had achieved 82.86% consensus, with 29 validators voting in favor and six voting against.

XRP Ledger Amendment Moves Closer to Activation

The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment was introduced alongside XRP Ledger version 3.2.0. Although it has secured enough validator support, it is not yet active on the XRPL mainnet.

Under the XRP Ledger’s governance rules, an amendment must maintain approval from at least 80% of trusted validators for a continuous two-week period before it can be enabled. Should validator support fall below this threshold during the countdown, the activation timer will restart.

XRP Ledger validator Vet confirmed on X that the amendment has entered its two-week activation phase. Node operators will therefore need to ensure that their software is updated and compatible before the changes take effect.

What Does fixCleanup3_2_0 Change?

The fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment does not introduce entirely new XRP Ledger features. Instead, it combines several maintenance updates designed to improve the security, accuracy and reliability of functions included in XRPL version 3.2.0.

One of the main improvements addresses precision and rounding issues affecting Single Asset Vaults and the XRP Ledger’s Lending Protocol.

The amendment also includes corrections related to:

  • Permissioned Domains
  • The Permissioned Decentralized Exchange
  • Multi-Purpose Token amounts
  • Account-deletion safeguards
  • Permissioned DEX offer deletions

In addition, the update introduces validation for non-canonical Multi-Purpose Token amounts and checks for zero-value DomainIDs within Permissioned Domains.

Another correction addresses an invariant connected to the valid deletion of Permissioned DEX offers. A separate safeguard is intended to prevent deleted accounts from leaving directly accessible objects or artifacts behind on the ledger.

When Will the XRPL Amendment Activate?

The amendment is currently scheduled for activation on July 29, 2026, at 09:57 UTC.

However, this date depends on validator approval remaining above the required 80% threshold throughout the entire two-week period. Any decline below that level would interrupt the process and reset the activation countdown.

Why the Bundled Amendment Matters

By grouping several protocol fixes into one amendment, the XRP Ledger can implement multiple improvements through a single governance vote. This reduces the need for validators to review and approve numerous smaller amendments separately.

The update is particularly important for recently introduced XRPL capabilities involving decentralized finance, real-world asset tokenization, lending and permissioned trading infrastructure.

Although fixCleanup3_2_0 does not provide major new functionality, its activation could strengthen the reliability of the XRP Ledger’s growing financial ecosystem.
