Tesla Receives Approval to Deploy Full Self-Driving Technology in Belgium
Tesla has secured regulatory approval to introduce its Full Self-Driving (FSD) supervised driver assistance software in Belgium, marking another step forward in the company’s European expansion of autonomous driving technology.
The announcement was made by Annick De Ridder, the transport minister of Belgium’s Flanders region, who confirmed the decision in a post shared on X.
Official Authorization Granted
De Ridder revealed that she had personally signed the approval, sharing an image of the official document alongside her announcement.
The authorization allows Tesla to begin rolling out its Full Self-Driving technology in Belgium after successfully completing a series of tests and evaluations within the country.
Approval Valid Across Belgium
Under Belgium’s regulatory framework, approvals granted in any of the country’s three regions are automatically recognized nationwide.
As a result, Tesla’s newly approved Full Self-Driving software can now be offered throughout Belgium, significantly expanding access to the company’s advanced driver assistance features.
Belgium Joins Growing List of EU Countries
With the latest approval, Belgium becomes the fifth European Union member state to authorize Tesla’s Full Self-Driving technology.
The country joins the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, and Denmark, all of which have previously approved the deployment of Tesla’s supervised autonomous driving software.
The development represents another milestone for Tesla as it continues to expand the availability of its self-driving technology across Europe amid growing interest in advanced vehicle automation.
