Nvidia could double its chip sales next year, according to CEO Jensen Huang, as global demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure continues to expand.
Huang made the comments on Thursday during a summit in Scotland attended by the U.K.’s King Charles III.
The forecast adds to growing expectations that Nvidia’s rapid expansion could continue over the coming quarters.
Nvidia Expects Strong AI-Driven Growth
Nvidia recently indicated that it expects revenue growth of around 70% for the fiscal year ending in January 2028.
That would take annual revenue to approximately $673 billion.
Huang said he expects Nvidia to sell roughly twice as many chips next year as it does this year.
He linked that outlook directly to rising investment in artificial intelligence.
According to Huang, AI is increasingly delivering benefits across different industries and economies. As a result, governments and companies around the world are continuing to invest heavily in AI infrastructure.
Nvidia GPUs Remain at the Center of AI Demand
Nvidia does not publish a total figure for all chip sales.
However, the company is best known for its data center GPUs, which have become a key part of the global AI computing boom.
Its major products include the Blackwell and Rubin chip families.
Last year, Huang said Nvidia had shipped around 6 million Blackwell GPUs over four quarters.
These processors are widely used to train and run advanced artificial intelligence models.
Nvidia Produces More Than AI GPUs
Although GPUs are Nvidia’s most recognizable products, the company manufactures a wide range of semiconductors.
Its portfolio also includes central processing units, networking switches and optical networking chips.
Nvidia also develops laptop chips and Jetson processors used in robotics and automotive applications.
In addition, Nvidia technology powers the chip inside Nintendo’s Switch 2 gaming console.
This broad product range gives the company exposure to several fast-growing technology markets beyond traditional data center computing.
AI Investment Remains Nvidia’s Main Growth Driver
The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence remains the biggest factor behind Nvidia’s growth outlook.
Demand for high-performance computing infrastructure has surged as technology companies, governments and enterprises build new AI systems.
Nvidia has become one of the main suppliers of the hardware required for these systems.
If global AI spending continues to rise, demand for Nvidia chips could remain elevated well into the next several quarters.
Jensen Huang Discusses AI Safety
Huang also attended the summit alongside representatives from Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic.
The group discussed artificial intelligence safety and the responsibility of companies developing advanced AI products.
Huang said products that are not considered safe should be held back until engineers can improve them.
His remarks highlight the growing focus on AI safety as investment and adoption continue to accelerate worldwide.
Nvidia Outlook Remains Closely Tied to AI Boom
Nvidia’s latest sales forecast reinforces expectations that the company could continue benefiting from strong AI demand.
Investors will now be watching future product launches, data center spending and demand for Blackwell and Rubin chips for further signs of growth.
The company’s ability to maintain its leadership in AI computing will likely remain one of the most important factors shaping Nvidia’s long-term outlook.
