Bitcoin Rebounds Above $64,000 as Risk Appetite Improves

Bitcoin recovered on Friday and moved back above $64,000 as stronger technology stocks improved investor sentiment across global markets.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency rose 1.9% to $64,201.80 by 09:30 ET, or 13:30 GMT. Earlier in the session, Bitcoin climbed as high as $64,612.

The cryptocurrency was also on track for a weekly gain of around 1%.

Bitcoin had fallen earlier in the week after renewed military tensions between the United States and Iran unsettled global markets. The escalation pushed investors toward traditional safe-haven assets and reduced demand for riskier investments.

Technology Rally Supports Bitcoin Prices

Investor sentiment improved after U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran had contacted Washington to discuss a possible agreement.

The comments helped ease concerns about a wider regional conflict. At the same time, crude oil prices pulled back from recent highs.

Bitcoin’s recovery followed a broader rally on Wall Street. Technology stocks led the gains, while the Nasdaq advanced by more than 1% on Thursday.

The positive move in equities encouraged investors to return to higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

U.S.-Iran Tensions Keep Traders Cautious

Despite the rebound, traders remained cautious as developments surrounding the U.S.-Iran conflict continued to influence market sentiment.

Trump had previously said that the interim agreement with Tehran was over following renewed hostilities. However, he later indicated that Iranian officials had reached out to negotiate.

Any further easing in tensions could support Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. However, a new escalation may quickly weaken risk appetite again.

Bitcoin ETF Demand Remains in Focus

Market participants are also closely watching institutional demand through U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds.

These products have remained an important driver of Bitcoin prices throughout the year.

Continued inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs have helped support the market during periods of geopolitical uncertainty and broader economic volatility.

Analysts noted that Bitcoin still behaves largely like a high-beta risk asset. This means it often moves in the same direction as technology stocks when investor sentiment improves.

A sustained decline in geopolitical tensions, combined with continued strength in technology shares, could provide further support for cryptocurrency prices.

Circle Receives Approval for National Trust Bank

Circle Internet Financial also attracted attention after receiving final approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to operate a national trust bank.

The regulatory milestone sent Circle shares around 10% higher in premarket trading.

The new charter allows the USDC stablecoin issuer to manage custody of its own reserves. Circle will also be able to hold cryptocurrency assets for institutional clients.

CEO Jeremy Allaire described the approval as an important step toward integrating blockchain technology and digital assets into the U.S. financial system.

The new trust bank will operate under direct federal supervision from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Altcoins Follow Bitcoin Higher

Most major altcoins moved higher on Friday as they followed Bitcoin’s recovery.

Ethereum gained around 3% to $1,798.92.

XRP rose approximately 1% to $1.108, while Solana added close to 1%.

Cardano moved in the opposite direction and declined around 0.9%.

Among meme cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin advanced by approximately 2%.
