Bitcoin price recorded a modest recovery on Tuesday as Wall Street opened higher, with investors closely monitoring the US midterm elections and their potential impact on financial markets.

Bitcoin (BTC) gained approximately 0.7%, trading near $77,000 as technology stocks rebounded. However, political uncertainty continued to weigh on investor sentiment, raising concerns about potential gridlock in Washington.

Bitcoin Price Holds Above $76,000 as Market Volatility Eases

Bitcoin maintained its recent support levels despite broader uncertainty across global financial markets.

According to TradingView data, BTC/USD traded around $77,000 during Tuesday’s US trading session. The cryptocurrency also managed to stay above its recent low of approximately $76,300, recorded on Friday.

Meanwhile, US stocks experienced mixed trading conditions as investors assessed corporate earnings, economic developments and political risks.

Apple shares came under pressure after declining approximately 4% in premarket trading. The technology giant projected gross margins between 45% and 46% for the December quarter, compared with 47.9% in the previous quarter.

Apple attributed the weaker outlook partly to rising memory-chip costs, adding to concerns about profitability across the technology sector.

US Midterm Elections Fuel Fears of Political Gridlock

The upcoming US midterm elections have emerged as another major source of uncertainty for investors.

Opinion polls indicate that Democrats could make substantial gains in Congress. However, some political analysts believe those expectations may be overly optimistic.

Tobin Marcus, head of US policy and politics at Wolfe Research, told CNBC that investors appeared skeptical about whether Democrats would perform as strongly as polling suggested.

The uncertainty follows a difficult session for US equities on Monday. The S&P 500 declined 0.5%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite lost 1.1%.

Market analysts at The Kobeissi Letter suggested that the weakness in stocks was not solely related to concerns about artificial intelligence spending.

Instead, they argued that investors were increasingly adjusting their expectations to reflect a potentially significant change in the US political landscape.

A divided Congress could make it more difficult to pass legislation, creating prolonged disputes over government spending, economic policy and other important decisions.

According to The Kobeissi Letter, financial markets may already be pricing in two years of political gridlock.

Such an environment could complicate investment decisions, particularly as markets attempt to anticipate changes in fiscal policy and government priorities.

Oil Prices Fall Despite Renewed US-Iran Tensions

Energy markets also experienced notable volatility as investors evaluated the latest developments involving the United States and Iran.

Reports of fresh US military strikes targeting Iran’s Qeshm Island, a strategically important location near the Strait of Hormuz, initially supported oil prices.

However, the upward momentum proved temporary.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil briefly climbed to $98.80 per barrel before retreating below $94 during Tuesday’s session.

Prices subsequently reached approximately $93.59, their lowest level since October 15.

The decline followed a sharp 7% drop on Monday after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that President Donald Trump remained open to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict with Iran.

The possibility of renewed negotiations appeared to ease some concerns about prolonged disruptions to global oil supplies.

Bitcoin Investors Monitor Stocks and Political Developments

Bitcoin’s ability to defend the $76,000 region suggests that buyers remain active despite uncertainty surrounding US politics and financial markets.

Nevertheless, the cryptocurrency’s near-term direction could remain sensitive to movements in technology stocks, investor risk appetite and developments surrounding the midterm elections.

For now, the $76,300 area remains an important recent price low, while the recovery toward $77,000 provides an indication of short-term stabilization.

Whether Bitcoin can sustain its rebound may depend on how markets respond to the election results and the possibility of an extended period of political uncertainty.
