India’s economy expanded by 7.8% in the April-June quarter compared with the same period a year earlier, according to government data released on Monday.
The latest figure highlights continued strength in one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
Growth Slows From the Previous Quarter
Despite the solid annual expansion, India’s economic growth slowed from the previous quarter.
The government revised the earlier quarter’s growth rate to 8.6%, meaning the April-June performance marked a moderation in economic momentum.
Even so, a 7.8% growth rate remains strong and will likely keep investor attention focused on India’s economic outlook and future policy developments.
