Ripple has voted in favor of the Permission Delegation amendment, marking another important step toward the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade.

The proposal would allow XRPL accounts to delegate specific transaction permissions to other accounts. The change is designed to improve account controls and support more advanced institutional, tokenization and financial use cases on the XRP Ledger.

Ripple Supports Permission Delegation Amendment

Ripple has officially voted in favor of the PermissionDelegationV1_1 amendment during the early voting stage.

The proposal introduces a new authorization mechanism that allows one XRP Ledger account to give another account permission to perform specific actions without granting full control.

This structure is similar to role-based access systems commonly used by businesses and financial institutions.

According to current voting data, 7 of 35 Unique Node List validators support the amendment.

For the proposal to activate on the XRP Ledger mainnet, it must receive approval from at least 80% of validators, or 28 out of 35, for two consecutive weeks.

Permission Delegation Could Support Institutional Adoption

The Permission Delegation amendment is intended to provide greater flexibility for organizations using the XRP Ledger.

Instead of giving an account complete authority, institutions could assign only specific responsibilities to certain accounts.

RippleX product head Jazzi Cooper highlighted the importance of stronger controls for institutions bringing tokenized assets onto blockchain networks.

Regulated organizations often require detailed permission structures before they can manage digital assets on-chain. Permission Delegation could provide some of the controls needed to support those operations.

Ripple Also Supports Other XRPL 3.3.0 Amendments

Permission Delegation is not the only proposal Ripple has backed as part of the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade.

Ripple has also voted in favor of the fixCleanup amendment, which includes several fixes related to Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol and other features.

The company has additionally supported the Single Asset Vault and Lending Protocol amendments.

These proposals are designed to introduce new vault structures and credit infrastructure involving assets such as XRP and RLUSD.

The changes could expand the XRP Ledger’s capabilities in areas including decentralized finance, lending and tokenization.

XRP Ledger 3.3.0 Includes Several Major Proposals

The XRPL 3.3.0 upgrade includes additional amendments that remain in the voting process.

These include:

  • Confidential Transfer
  • BatchV1_1
  • DynamicMPT
  • Sponsor

These proposals still require sufficient support from Ripple and XRP Ledger validators before they can move toward mainnet activation.

Node operators are also expected to upgrade to XRP Ledger version 3.3.0. Operators that fail to update could eventually become amendment-blocked once supported amendments are activated.

XRP Price Rallies More Than 17%

The development comes as XRP continues to show strong price momentum.

XRP was trading near $1.39, representing a gain of more than 17% in 24 hours and approximately 40% over the week.

During the latest 24-hour period, XRP traded between $1.22 and $1.43.

Trading volume also increased by approximately 156%, reflecting a sharp rise in market activity.

XRP ETF Inflows Strengthen Market Sentiment

Spot XRP ETFs have also recorded fresh inflows.

According to the reported data, XRP ETFs attracted approximately $13.24 million in net inflows on Thursday.

Bitwise accounted for roughly $9.9 million, while Franklin Templeton recorded about $3.34 million.

Institutional interest has also increased after Goldman Sachs re-entered XRP ETFs and once again became the largest disclosed holder.

XRP Futures Open Interest Climbs

Activity in the XRP derivatives market has strengthened alongside the price rally.

Total XRP futures open interest increased more than 17% to approximately $3.44 billion over the past 24 hours.

CME XRP futures open interest climbed by more than 35%, while Binance recorded an increase of around 15%. Hyperliquid saw open interest rise approximately 29%.

XRPL 3.3.0 Moves Closer to Mainnet Activation

Ripple’s support for Permission Delegation adds momentum to the broader XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade.

However, the amendment still needs significantly more validator approval before activation.

If the required voting threshold is eventually reached, Permission Delegation and the other proposed upgrades could strengthen the XRP Ledger’s infrastructure for institutional finance, tokenized assets, lending and more advanced account management.
