X Outage Affects Thousands of Users Worldwide

Elon Musk’s social media platform X experienced a widespread outage on Monday. Thousands of users around the world reported problems accessing the service.

According to Downdetector, more than 9,800 outage reports had been submitted by 10:18 a.m. ET.

Users Report Problems Accessing X

The X outage affected users attempting to access the platform through its website and mobile application.

Downdetector monitors online service disruptions by collecting reports from users and several other sources. However, the figures do not necessarily represent the total number of people affected.

Because users submit the reports voluntarily, the actual scale of the disruption may have been significantly larger.

X Outage Hits Canada and the UK

Users outside the United States also experienced problems with the social media platform.

In Canada, more than 1,300 users had reported issues by 10:16 a.m. ET.

Meanwhile, Downdetector recorded over 1,400 reports from users in the United Kingdom by 10:18 a.m. ET.

The figures indicated that the X outage was affecting users across several major markets.

Cause of the X Disruption Remains Unknown

The company did not immediately provide an explanation for the technical problems.

SpaceX, the ultimate parent company of X through its wider corporate structure, also did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the cause of the outage.

As a result, it remained unclear whether the disruption was caused by server problems, maintenance work or another technical issue.
