OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to Visit Samsung as AI Adoption Efforts Accelerate
OpenAI Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman is expected to meet senior executives at Samsung Electronics next week during a visit to South Korea, according to a report from Yonhap News Agency. The discussions are expected to focus on Samsung’s ongoing efforts to expand the use of artificial intelligence across its business operations.
AI Lecture Planned in South Korea
Altman is scheduled to visit Samsung’s headquarters in Suwon, located south of Seoul, on Monday. During the visit, he will reportedly deliver a lecture covering the growing impact of artificial intelligence technologies and the role AI can play in transforming workplace productivity and innovation.
The event comes as Samsung continues to push forward with a company-wide strategy aimed at integrating AI-powered tools and systems into its daily operations.
Samsung Expands AI-Driven Transformation

The trip will mark Altman’s first visit to South Korea in approximately eight months. During his previous visit in October, he held separate meetings with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won.
Following those discussions, OpenAI signed letters of intent with both Samsung and SK Group to collaborate on the development of global AI infrastructure. The agreements laid the groundwork for broader strategic partnerships aimed at supporting future AI innovation and deployment on a global scale.
