Meta Delays Release of New AI Model for Developers
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) has reportedly postponed the release of its latest artificial intelligence model for developers, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The delay comes despite earlier indications from company executives that the launch was expected in the near future.
Delay Extends Nearly Two Months
According to sources familiar with the matter, the release has now been pushed back for almost two months. The setback follows comments from Meta’s AI leadership, who previously told developers to expect the new model to arrive “soon.”
The report suggests that Meta currently does not have a confirmed launch date for the developer version of the AI model.
Meta Continues Work on AI API
Alongside the development of its latest AI model, Meta is also building an application programming interface (API) designed to give developers access to its artificial intelligence capabilities.
The company told The Wall Street Journal that it is currently testing the API with selected partners and still plans to make it available later this month.
