Anthropic Eyes Massive Funding Round at Near $1 Trillion Valuation

Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic is reportedly considering a major new funding round that could value the company at nearly $1 trillion, according to a Financial Times report published on Friday.

The company is said to be seeking up to $50 billion in fresh capital as it looks to significantly expand its computing infrastructure and meet growing demand for its AI products.

Investor Interest Continues to Grow

Anthropic, the developer behind the Claude AI platform, was previously valued at $380 billion in February.

The latest fundraising effort has reportedly attracted interest from major investment firms including Dragoneer Investment Group, General Catalyst, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

According to the report, the funding round could value Anthropic at around $900 billion before the new investment is added, with the deal potentially closing within the next two months.

Revenue Growth Accelerates Rapidly

The company’s annualized revenue is expected to exceed $45 billion in the near future, marking a sharp increase from approximately $9 billion recorded at the end of last year.

The rapid growth highlights the increasing global demand for advanced artificial intelligence tools and enterprise AI solutions.

Anthropic Expands Computing Infrastructure

Anthropic is seeking additional funding largely to support a large-scale expansion of its computing capacity as supply limitations continue to pressure the AI industry.

The startup has reportedly secured long-term infrastructure partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Google, and Broadcom to guarantee future access to high-performance computing power.

The growing need for advanced AI chips and cloud infrastructure has become one of the biggest challenges facing artificial intelligence companies as competition intensifies across the sector.
