France’s economy expanded in the third quarter, according to final data released Friday by the statistics office INSEE. The figures confirmed the earlier estimate of 0.5% growth, highlighting steady resilience in the euro zone’s second-largest economy.

The result matched the average forecast of 0.5% from a Reuters survey of 25 economists.

Exports rose 3.2%, a significant improvement from the 0.3% increase in the previous quarter. INSEE attributed this jump mainly to stronger exports of transport equipment.

Household consumption, a key driver of the French economy, posted a modest 0.1% gain, unchanged from the previous quarter. A rebound in energy spending and higher service expenditure helped offset a decline in food-related purchases.
