Airbus reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results as higher commercial aircraft deliveries and improved defence performance supported revenue and profit growth.

The European planemaker also maintained its financial and production forecasts for the full year.

Airbus Q2 Profit Rises 54%

Airbus recorded an adjusted operating profit of €2.43 billion during the second quarter. This represented a 54% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

The result exceeded analysts’ average forecast of €2.19 billion.

The stronger profit performance was mainly supported by increased jetliner deliveries and gains across the company’s defence operations.

Revenue Climbs to €20.53 Billion

Second-quarter revenue increased by 28% to €20.53 billion.

Analysts had expected Airbus to report revenue of approximately €20.25 billion. Therefore, the company exceeded market expectations for both revenue and adjusted operating profit.

Commercial aircraft deliveries were the main driver of growth.

Jet Deliveries Recover After Slow Start

Airbus delivered more commercial aircraft during the quarter following a relatively weak beginning to the year.

The improvement helped strengthen revenue across the company’s commercial aircraft division. Higher delivery volumes also supported profitability, as Airbus was able to recognise revenue from more completed aircraft.

The recovery will be closely watched as the company works to meet its full-year production targets.

Defence Business Supports Growth

Airbus also benefited from stronger performance in its defence activities.

Rising demand for military aircraft, defence systems and related services contributed to the company’s improved quarterly results.

Growing European defence spending could continue to support this segment, although supply chain pressures and production challenges remain important risks.

Airbus Maintains Full-Year Outlook

Despite continuing uncertainty across the aerospace supply chain, Airbus kept its financial and industrial forecasts unchanged.

Maintaining the outlook suggests that management remains confident in the company’s ability to increase aircraft deliveries and achieve its annual profit targets.

However, investors will continue to monitor engine availability, supplier delays and production rates during the second half of the year.

Airbus Results Exceed Market Expectations

Airbus delivered a strong second quarter, with both revenue and adjusted operating profit coming in above analysts’ forecasts.

The combination of recovering commercial aircraft deliveries and stronger defence demand helped the company achieve significant year-over-year growth.

The latest results indicate that Airbus has regained momentum after a slow start to the year. Future performance will now depend on whether the company can maintain higher delivery rates and manage ongoing supply chain challenges.
