Toyota Recalls Over 144,000 U.S. Vehicles Over Camera Malfunction

Toyota is recalling approximately 144,200 vehicles across the United States after identifying a potential issue with rearview camera functionality. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the camera display may fail to appear when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Affected Lexus and Toyota Models Identified

The recall impacts several popular models, including specific units of the 2022–2025 Lexus NX350 and NX250, the 2023–2026 Lexus RX350, and the 2024–2026 Lexus TX350. These vehicles may experience intermittent or complete loss of the rearview camera image, posing a safety concern for drivers.

Free Fix Offered by Dealers

The NHTSA stated that authorized dealers will resolve the issue at no cost to vehicle owners. Depending on the case, technicians will either perform a software update or replace the rearview camera entirely to ensure proper functionality.
