Spain’s Inflation Rises to 2.7% in July
Spain’s annual inflation rate climbed to 2.7% in July, up from 2.3% in June, according to final data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) released on Wednesday.
The figure matched both the flash estimate published two weeks earlier and the consensus forecast from analysts.
Core Inflation Also Edges Higher
Core inflation — which excludes fresh food and energy — rose to 2.3% in July from 2.2% in June, the INE said.
The national consumer price index also showed a 2.7% year-on-year increase for July, accelerating from 2.3% the month before, confirming the INE’s preliminary estimate.
Harmonized Inflation Matches EU Comparison
The harmonized inflation rate, used for comparisons across the European Union, also came in at 2.7% in July, up from 2.3% in June.
