Michael Saylor Confident Bitcoin Is on Track to Hit $1 Million, Citing Institutional Demand and Regulatory Shifts

Key Points:

  • Michael Saylor predicts Bitcoin will eventually reach $1 million.
  • He attributes this to improving U.S. crypto regulations and strong institutional interest.
  • Saylor believes the crypto bear market is over and Bitcoin is entering a sustained upward phase.

Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy, remains highly optimistic about Bitcoin’s future, asserting that it’s well on its way to hitting the $1 million mark. In a recent Bloomberg interview, he dismissed fears of a price crash, citing a range of bullish developments driving the market.

Saylor pointed to a friendlier regulatory environment, with recent appointments at the SEC and CFTC seen as supportive of crypto, alongside the White House’s growing pro-Bitcoin stance. He also highlighted the progress of pro-crypto legislation moving through Congress, including a bill to formalize a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve.

Institutional demand is another major factor, according to Saylor. He noted that only about 450 BTC are available for daily purchase from natural sellers—roughly $50 million worth—which is quickly being absorbed by companies and ETFs. Strategy itself just acquired 1,045 BTC for $110 million. Corporations like GameStop and Trump Media are also raising funds to boost their Bitcoin holdings.

Bitcoin ETFs are playing a critical role too. BlackRock’s IBIT has accumulated over $70 billion in assets and holds nearly 700,000 BTC. Nation-states are beginning to follow suit by forming their own Bitcoin reserves.

Saylor argues that with this level of demand, Bitcoin’s price is poised for a significant rise. He suggested that even if Bitcoin eventually corrected from $1 million down by hundreds of thousands, it wouldn’t negate the broader upward trend. He concluded by declaring that the era of crypto winters is over, and the market has shifted to what he calls an “up-only” trajectory.
