UK Wage Growth Slows to 4.7% in Three Months to August

Average weekly earnings in the United Kingdom, excluding bonuses, rose 4.7% year-on-year in the three months to August, according to data released on Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The figure was in line with economists’ expectations and marked a slight slowdown from the 4.8% growth seen in the previous three-month period ending in July.

The report, which tracks regular pay growth between June and August compared to the same period last year, highlights a gradual easing in wage momentum across the UK labor market.
