UK house prices rose by 0.3% in November, outperforming economist forecasts, according to new figures released on Tuesday by mortgage provider Nationwide.
The monthly rise came in above the 0.1% increase expected in a Reuters survey of economists.
On an annual basis, property prices grew 1.8% in the year to November, again beating projections. Analysts had predicted year-on-year growth of around 1.4%.
This stronger-than-expected performance in the housing market arrives just ahead of finance minister Rachel Reeves’ upcoming budget announcement.
