UK house prices rise faster than expected in September
British house prices grew at a stronger pace than forecast in September, according to Nationwide data released on Wednesday. Prices increased by 0.5% compared to August, when they had fallen by 0.1%.
The monthly rise outpaced economists’ expectations of a 0.2% increase, based on a Reuters survey.
On an annual basis, house prices climbed 2.2% in September, slightly above the 2.1% growth seen in August. This yearly increase also beat the 1.8% rise predicted by analysts.
The latest figures highlight a rebound in the UK housing market, signaling renewed momentum after the small decline recorded in the previous month.
