Trump Issues Harsh Warning to Iran, Urges Tehran Evacuation Amid Escalating Conflict
U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Monday regarding its ongoing confrontation with Israel, reiterating his opposition to Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and criticizing its failure to agree to a proposed nuclear deal with the U.S.
“Iran should have signed the deal I told them to sign. What a shame, and a tragic loss of life,” Trump wrote on social media. “To be clear: IRAN MUST NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON.”
He added, “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”
Trump’s remarks came amid some of the most intense fighting between Israel and Iran in over three decades. The conflict reignited late last week after Israeli forces launched strikes on multiple Iranian nuclear facilities, triggering a wave of retaliatory missile attacks from Iran, including strikes on key Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv.
Earlier, Trump had claimed his administration was working behind the scenes to facilitate a ceasefire between the two countries. However, with violence continuing to escalate, signs of a breakthrough remain elusive. Reuters reported that Iran had reached out to Gulf nations, including Qatar and Oman, in an effort to persuade the U.S. to pressure Israel into halting its military operations.
Trump has long maintained a hardline stance against Iran’s nuclear program, recently asserting that the country will not be allowed to enrich uranium. Iranian officials rejected his claims.
