U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that granting recognition to a Palestinian state would be “too great a reward” for Hamas. He also renewed his call for an immediate end to the ongoing war in Gaza.
During his speech at the United Nations, Trump emphasized the urgent need to secure the release of hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza, whether they are alive or deceased.
“Some members of this body are pushing to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state, as if to encourage continued violence. Such recognition would give Hamas terrorists an undeserved reward for their brutal acts,” Trump stated in his UN address.
The president urged world leaders and peace supporters to unite and demand the release of the hostages. According to Trump, this step is essential for achieving a genuine end to the conflict in Gaza.
