Trump Says Fed Chair Decision Could Come by End of 2025
U.S. President Donald Trump said that a decision on who will serve as the next Federal Reserve Chair could be finalized by the end of 2025.
“Maybe by the end of the year, we’ll make a decision on the Fed,” Trump told reporters while speaking aboard Air Force One.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added further details about the selection process, noting that officials are preparing for a second round of evaluations. “We’re going to do a second round, and we hope to present a good slate to the president right after Thanksgiving,” Bessent said.
The timeline indicates that the Trump administration is actively reviewing potential candidates for one of the most influential positions in the U.S. economy, with final decisions expected in the coming weeks.
