Trump Calls on Iran to Negotiate Following Israeli Strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday urged Iran to strike a deal on its nuclear program, warning that if it didn’t act soon, future Israeli attacks could be even more devastating.

“There has already been significant loss of life and destruction, but there’s still time to stop the bloodshed,” Trump wrote on his social media platform. “The upcoming strikes will be even more severe. Iran must reach an agreement—before there’s nothing left.”

His comments followed a wave of Israeli airstrikes that targeted dozens of sites across Iran, including nuclear facilities, ballistic missile production centers, and senior military figures. The strikes marked the start of a broader Israeli campaign aimed at preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

While the Trump administration has been preparing for a sixth round of nuclear talks with Iran—scheduled for Sunday—the Israeli government said its offensive was necessary to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Trump revealed that Tehran had previously been given a 60-day window to come to the negotiating table, which expired on Thursday. He described this moment as a “second chance” for Iran to avoid further consequences.

Even as he promoted diplomacy, Trump publicly supported Israel’s military action in phone interviews with major news networks Friday morning.

“I think it’s been excellent,” he told ABC News. “And there’s more to come. A lot more.”

Speaking to CNN, Trump added, “The people I was dealing with—those hardliners—they’re gone.”

Trump is expected to attend a national security meeting at the White House at 11 a.m. (1500 GMT).
