During an Oval Office meeting on Tuesday, President Donald Trump sharply criticized former President Barack Obama, accusing him of orchestrating a “seditious conspiracy” tied to the Russia investigation.
When asked about the Jeffrey Epstein case, Trump quickly pivoted to attack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the broader probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. He claimed his team had discovered “irrefutable evidence” that Obama attempted to overthrow his presidency, allegedly working in coordination with Clinton and others. “Obama was behind it all—it’s right there in the documents,” Trump asserted.
In the same conversation, Trump discussed the assassination attempt on his life the previous year. He said officials described the shooter as simply “a nut job”, and criticized the Secret Service for not having an agent stationed on the roof and for failing to coordinate effectively with local law enforcement.
Trump also took aim at former FBI Director James Comey, labeling him “crooked as hell” and citing the Horowitz report—which he claimed revealed damaging details about Comey. He criticized former Attorney General Bill Barr for not acting on that information, saying Barr “didn’t have the guts.”
The president went on to accuse President Joe Biden of signing documents via autopen without understanding their content, including what Trump described as pardons for members of the January 6th Committee, which he derisively referred to as the “Unselect Committee.”
Trump also made allegations against Representative Adam Schiff, accusing him of mortgage loan fraud by claiming to live with his family in a one-bedroom apartment to secure a favorable loan.
