South Korea’s exports have exceeded the $700 billion mark for the first time, according to data released by the country’s trade ministry on Monday. The milestone was reached at 04:03 GMT, highlighting a strong year for overseas shipments.
Exports from South Korea, Asia’s fourth-largest economy, already hit a record $683.6 billion in 2024, representing an 8.1% increase compared with the previous year. Momentum has continued into 2025, pushing total exports beyond the historic $700 billion threshold.
For the January-to-November period, cumulative exports stood at $640.1 billion. Official data for the full month of December is scheduled to be released on Thursday, which will provide a clearer picture of year-end trade performance.
