Hoichi, the official third-party bridge of the Shibarium network, has quickly emerged as one of the fastest-growing projects in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. In a recent episode of the Shy Speaks Podcast, hosted by Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, Hoichi co-founders Stan and Samantha shared key updates about their new initiative—the Torii Gateway platform.
The Torii Gateway Platform
According to Stan, the Torii Gateway was designed to act as a powerful utility connecting multiple blockchains. Much like roads connecting countries, this platform creates a network of pathways between blockchains, enabling seamless and flexible asset transfers.
Currently, Torii Gateway supports more than 1,500 tokens across 60+ networks, with expansion plans already in place. Kusama praised the project’s progress, highlighting its low transaction fees and inclusive design, noting its importance for the broader Shibarium ecosystem.
One of the platform’s core innovations is Fusion DCRM technology, which enhances user and developer security within the protocol. This system uses advanced cryptographic tools, including group-based and multi-signature protections, ensuring that unauthorized parties cannot access funds even if part of an encryption key is compromised. Liquidity challenges have also been addressed by pulling resources from multiple chains, strengthening stability for users.
Future of Shibarium’s Hoichi
Samantha explained that Hoichi currently supports Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible networks, but expansion to chains like Tron and Solana is planned. Similar efforts have previously been proposed to connect Shibarium with Ethereum and Arbitrum.
Looking ahead, the Torii Gateway will undergo major updates to make its interface simpler and more secure. The team is also exploring fiat on- and off-ramps, community rewards, and a staking platform, further increasing inclusivity and participation.
Meanwhile, Solana-based projects are already eyeing cross-chain growth, with some deploying native tokens on Shibarium. As Shiba Inu marketing lead Lucie explained, projects can deploy a Shibarium version of their token, tap into the ecosystem, and build new utilities for long-term adoption.
In addition, Shibarium recently updated its developer documentation, making it easier to integrate with ShibaSwap V1 and V2, further expanding opportunities for builders in the ecosystem.
