Paramount and Activision Announce Live-Action Call of Duty Movie
Paramount Skydance has signed a deal with Microsoft-owned Activision Blizzard to bring the blockbuster video game franchise Call of Duty to the big screen. The adaptation will be developed as a live-action feature film, both companies confirmed on Tuesday.
Paramount and Activision said the film will stay true to the franchise’s “rich narrative and distinctive style,” aiming to deliver an authentic experience for fans worldwide.
“We’re approaching this project with the same disciplined and uncompromising commitment to excellence that guided our work on Top Gun: Maverick,” said Paramount CEO David Ellison.
Published by Activision, Call of Duty is one of the most successful video game franchises ever created. With more than 500 million copies sold worldwide, it consistently ranks as one of the best-selling games in the United States each year.
