OpenAI has begun preliminary discussions with investors about a potential fundraising round that could value the company at as much as $750 billion, according to a report published Wednesday by The Information.
The report said the developer of ChatGPT is exploring a capital raise of at least several tens of billions of dollars, with the total amount potentially reaching as high as $100 billion, depending on investor interest and deal structure.
The latest disclosure follows earlier reports this week suggesting that OpenAI is in talks to secure up to $10 billion in funding from Amazon. Those discussions reportedly include the possibility of OpenAI adopting Amazon’s in-house artificial intelligence chips as part of a broader partnership.
