Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) shares dropped 2% on Wednesday morning after billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk urged his followers to cancel their subscriptions to the streaming platform.

“Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids,” Musk wrote on his social media platform X. His comments came in response to a post accusing Netflix of promoting a transgender agenda. Musk, who has more than 226 million followers, also reposted several claims suggesting a growing wave of subscription cancellations.

The Tesla CEO singled out the animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park, saying it was “pushing trans ideology” to children. In another post, he added, “this is not ok,” reacting to concerns that the show is marketed to viewers as young as seven years old.

Netflix has faced criticism from conservative voices in the past over certain content choices. However, the company has consistently defended its programming, emphasizing that it provides a wide range of shows and movies designed for diverse audiences.
