Linda Yaccarino Steps Down as X CEO After Two Years at the Helm
Linda Yaccarino announced her resignation as CEO of X on Wednesday, concluding a two-year tenure leading the social media platform.
In a message shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Yaccarino thanked Elon Musk for giving her the opportunity to oversee key initiatives, including safeguarding free speech, revitalizing the company, and helping evolve X into the “Everything App.”
She pointed to several accomplishments during her leadership, such as a “historic business turnaround,” renewed advertiser trust, and a focus on user safety—particularly for children.
Among the platform developments under her guidance were the introduction of Community Notes and the forthcoming X Money feature.
Yaccarino signaled that the company is entering “a new chapter” alongside @xai, though she did not provide further details about the transition or X’s future direction.
Describing X as “a global digital town square and a leading cultural force,” she voiced optimism about the platform’s future. Yaccarino did not disclose her next move but noted she plans to remain active on X.
