Interactive Brokers Group Inc. is rolling out a new feature that allows retail investors to fund individual brokerage accounts using stablecoins, signaling a further step toward the integration of traditional finance and digital assets.

The rollout will take place gradually, starting with a select group of eligible U.S. clients, according to a company spokesperson who confirmed the development to Bloomberg on Friday. With this option, customers can deposit funds directly from cryptocurrency wallets, removing the need to transfer money through a traditional bank account.

The move was first disclosed by Thomas Peterffy, billionaire founder and chairman of Interactive Brokers, during a presentation at Goldman Sachs’ financial services conference earlier this week. The announcement highlights the firm’s growing interest in blockchain-based payment solutions and digital finance infrastructure.
