Google Launches Lyria 3 Pro for Advanced AI Music Creation

Google has introduced Lyria 3 Pro, a next-generation AI music generation model capable of producing tracks up to three minutes long. The system is designed with structural awareness, meaning it understands key musical components such as intros, verses, choruses, and bridges—allowing users to generate more cohesive and professionally structured songs.

Built for Scalable Audio Generation

Lyria 3 Pro is now available in public preview through Vertex AI, targeting businesses that require scalable, on-demand audio production. Developers can also access the model via Google AI Studio and the Gemini API.

In addition, Google is integrating the technology into Google Vids, its AI-powered video creation tool for Workspace users, as well as subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.

Availability Across Apps and Platforms

Paid users can also access extended music generation features within the Gemini app. Beyond that, Lyria 3 Pro is integrated into ProducerAI, a collaborative music creation platform designed for artists, producers, and songwriters. ProducerAI is available globally for both free and premium users.

Developed with Artists and Real-World Use Cases

Google created Lyria 3 Pro through its Music AI Sandbox, an initiative aimed at providing experimental tools for creative professionals. The technology has already been used by industry figures, including Grammy-winning producer Yung Spielburg, who incorporated Lyria into the score for the Google DeepMind short film Dear Upstairs Neighbors.

Additionally, DJ and producer François K is collaborating with Google to produce a new track using the platform.

Ethical AI Training and Content Transparency

Google stated that Lyria 3 Pro is trained using content that the company is legally authorized to use, including materials from YouTube and partner agreements. The model is designed not to replicate specific artists when prompted by name but instead to generate music inspired by broader styles.

To ensure transparency, all outputs generated by Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro include SynthID, Google’s watermarking technology for identifying AI-generated content.
