German exports rose 1.4% in September compared with the previous month, according to data released on Friday by the Federal Statistics Office. The increase was stronger than economists had expected, signaling steady demand for German goods despite a challenging global trade environment.
A Reuters poll of analysts had forecast a smaller rise of 0.5%, making September’s result a positive surprise for Europe’s largest economy.
The Federal Statistics Office said more detailed figures and economic breakdowns are available on its official website.
