Consumer prices in France increased by 0.7% year on year in December, according to data released on Thursday by INSEE. The final figure confirmed both the preliminary estimate published earlier this month and expectations from a Reuters survey of economists.
The EU-harmonised inflation rate for France, the euro zone’s second-largest economy, edged slightly higher in December compared with the November reading of 0.8%, signalling a modest uptick in price pressures toward the end of the year.
