Apple Shareholders Block China Manufacturing Report

Apple Shareholders Reject Proposal on China Manufacturing Exposure

Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) shareholders voted on Tuesday to reject a proposal that would have required the company to disclose more details about its dependence on China for manufacturing most of its products.

The vote took place during Apple’s annual shareholder meeting, where investors also reviewed and decided on several other corporate governance matters.

In addition to dismissing the China manufacturing report proposal, shareholders re-elected all members of Apple’s board of directors.

Apple continues to produce a large share of its hardware in China. The company relies on contract manufacturers and suppliers in the country to assemble key products, including the iPhone, iPad, and other major devices within its product ecosystem.

The rejected proposal had sought greater transparency regarding Apple’s supply chain exposure to China, an issue that has drawn attention amid rising geopolitical tensions and global trade concerns.
