Apple is ramping up production of its entry-level iPhone 17 after stronger-than-expected pre-orders over the weekend.
According to a report from The Information, the company has instructed at least two suppliers to boost daily output of the standard iPhone 17 by at least 30%. Sources familiar with the matter confirmed the move.
This adjustment shows that more customers than Apple initially predicted opted for the $799 base model instead of the higher-priced Pro versions, which start at $1,099.
The Pro editions usually come with premium materials, upgraded cameras, faster processors, and advanced display technology compared to the standard iPhone 17.
However, the consumer shift toward the lower-cost model could limit Apple’s overall revenue growth. The full iPhone 17 lineup officially launched on Friday.
