Alphabet Stock Gains as Gemini 3 Deep Think AI Upgrade Boosts Confidence
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) shares climbed 1% on Thursday, outperforming the broader technology sector. The Nasdaq 100 fell 1.5% during the session, but Alphabet stock moved higher after the company unveiled a major upgrade to its Gemini 3 Deep Think artificial intelligence system.
The Google parent announced substantial improvements to its advanced reasoning model, which is designed to tackle complex problems across science, engineering, and research fields.
Gemini 3 Deep Think Expands Access to Researchers and Enterprises
The enhanced version of Gemini 3 Deep Think is now available to Google AI Ultra subscribers through the Gemini app. For the first time, the company is also providing access via the Gemini API to select researchers and enterprise clients.
Alphabet stated that the upgraded AI model achieved strong benchmark results. The system recorded a 48.4% score on “Humanity’s Last Exam” without external tools and 84.6% on ARC-AGI-2. It also reached gold medal-level performance at the International Math Olympiad 2025.
In addition, Gemini 3 Deep Think demonstrated advanced capabilities in chemistry and physics, earning gold medal-level scores in the written sections of the 2025 International Physics and Chemistry Olympiads.
Real-World Applications Strengthen Gemini AI Appeal
Early testing has highlighted practical uses for the new AI system. Lisa Carbone, a mathematician at Rutgers University, used Deep Think to analyze a technical mathematics paper. The system identified a subtle logical flaw that had not been detected during prior human peer review.
Alphabet emphasized that Gemini 3 Deep Think is built not only for theoretical research but also for real-world engineering applications. Among its capabilities is the ability to convert sketches into fully functional 3D-printable models, expanding its relevance for design and manufacturing industries.
With the latest Gemini AI update, Alphabet continues to strengthen its position in the competitive artificial intelligence market, while demonstrating tangible advancements in enterprise and research-driven AI solutions.
