Anthropic is reportedly preparing to finalize an expansion of its revolving credit facility to $15 billion, marking an important step ahead of its expected initial public offering.

The financing package would significantly increase the AI company’s available liquidity as it prepares for what could become one of the most closely watched technology IPOs.

Anthropic Nears $15 Billion Credit Facility

According to Bloomberg, Anthropic is close to completing the expansion of its revolving credit line to $15 billion.

The new facility would be much larger than the company’s previous target of around $10 billion.

It would also represent a major increase from the $2.5 billion, five-year credit facility Anthropic secured last year.

The larger financing package could give the company more flexibility as it continues to expand its artificial intelligence operations.

Morgan Stanley Leads the Financing

Morgan Stanley is reportedly leading the credit facility process.

Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup are also expected to play prominent roles.

The same four banks are reportedly leading preparations for Anthropic’s planned IPO.

Their involvement highlights the scale of the expected public listing and the growing financial interest surrounding the AI company.

Major Global Banks Join the Deal

Several other major financial institutions are also expected to participate in the credit facility.

Barclays and Wells Fargo are set to hold important positions in the lending group.

Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and UBS are also expected to rank among the leading banks involved in the financing.

The broad group of lenders reflects the size of the deal and Anthropic’s growing importance within the global artificial intelligence industry.

Anthropic Prepares for Major IPO

Anthropic is reportedly aiming to raise an amount comparable to, or potentially larger than, SpaceX in its IPO.

The company is best known for Claude, its artificial intelligence chatbot and AI platform.

Bloomberg previously reported that Anthropic’s annualized revenue has exceeded $65 billion.

Strong revenue growth and rising demand for artificial intelligence services have increased expectations surrounding the company’s potential stock market debut.

Final Terms Could Still Change

Although the financing discussions are advanced, the final structure of the credit facility has not yet been confirmed.

Bloomberg reported that the size, terms and participating banks could still change before the agreement is completed.

If finalized near the reported $15 billion level, the credit facility would strengthen Anthropic’s financial position ahead of its anticipated IPO.
